“The truth will set you free” is an axiom of religious faith.

In the spirit of such truth-seeking, we stood outside local movie theaters in February to distribute to “Zero Dark Thirty” moviegoers “Fact Not Fiction” leaflets, decrying the film’s false narrative about the efficacy of torture in tracking down Osama bin Laden.

As people of faith, we know in the depths of our souls that torture is always immoral. We know that cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment violates the sanctity of life, the laws of our nation and indeed the laws of God...
