A non-governmental, bipartisan task force recently completed a two-year investigation into the U.S. government’s treatment of detainees both before and after 9/11, concluding it is indisputable that the United States government engaged in illegal torture. As a Christian ethicist who served on that task force, I want to be sure its findings and recommendations receive the attention they deserve.
