In recognition of Torture Awareness Month in June, the Voices Beyond the Walls writing contest uplifts the lived experiences, resilience, and advocacy of individuals who have endured solitary confinement. Sponsored by NRCAT, in partnership with Solitary Watch, this contest aims to center survivor voices, raise public awareness, and contribute to the movement to end torture in all forms of incarceration. 

This contest is open to all formerly incarcerated people who have experienced solitary confinement. The contest runs from May 1st - May 31st. Winners' pieces will be published on the Solitary Watch website in June.
