Organizations Invited To Membership

The National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT) invites national, regional, and local religious organizations that endorse NRCAT's Statement of Conscience "Torture is a Moral Issue" and agree to consider using the programs and resources of the Campaign to apply for membership. Religious organizations, whether local, regional, or national in scope, are invited to become Participating or Endorsing members. Secular organizations are invited to become Adjunct members.

Endorsing Members:

  • Are religious organizations;
  • Endorse the Statement of Conscience, "Torture is a Moral Issue;
  • Agree to consider using and promoting NRCAT programs.

Participating Members:

  • Are religious organizations;
  • Endorse the Statement of Conscience, "Torture is a Moral Issue;
  • Agree to consider using and promoting NRCAT programs;
  • Name a representative to the Participating Members' Council;
  • Make an annual financial contribution to NRCAT (it can be modest).

Adjunct Members:

  • Are secular organizations;
  • Endorse the Statement of Conscience, "Torture is a Moral Issue;
  • Work in concert with people of faith committed to ending U.S.-sponsored torture.
