January 11, 2012 - Interfaith Activities in DC

Reception and Interfaith Service

NRCAT will host a reception and interfaith service following the rally and public witness in Washington, DC, on January 11.  The gathering will be at New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, just a few blocks from the White House.

New York Ave Presbyterian Church
Radcliffe Room – First Floor
1313 New York Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20005
Directions

In addition to offering a warm place to gather with other people of faith, we will provide some simple food and beverages, including an ample supply of hot coffee, tea and cider!

The detailed schedule is still being worked out, but the space is available to us all day (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), so you can drop by at anytime for respite from the cold, to get some nourishment or to use the facilities.

The human chain event is scheduled to end around 2:00 p.m., so we anticipate that most people will arrive after that.  We plan to begin the interfaith service around 3:00 p.m. Leadership for the interfaith service will include Rev. J. Herbert Nelson of the Washington Office of the Presbyterian Church USA, Rabbi Rachel Kahn-Troster of Rabbis for Human Rights-North America, Sister Patricia Chappell of Pax Christi USA, and Dr. Sayyid Syeed of the Islamic Society of North America.
