WE CAN END U.S.-SPONSORED TORTURE

DeToqueville said that "America is great because America is good. If America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great." U.S.-sponsored torture threatens the goodness of our nation and the moral foundation of our soul. NRCAT, a national, multi-faith organization, is dedicated to ending U.S.-sponsored torture forever, without exception.

Please join us in 2010 as we work for:

  • A Commission of Inquiry that would investigate U.S. practices and policies since 9/11 to make recommendations about the needed safeguards so that U.S. torture never happens again.
  • The codification of the elements of an Executive Order into law. This includes advocating for a new law that would require access by the International Committee of the Red Cross to all U.S. held detainees.
  • Increasing the number of people who believe that torture is always wrong.

NRCAT will only be successful if thousands of people of faith work together to accomplish these goals and support our common efforts.
